As I have not been keeping this up to date, I will no longer be using this blog to record my events.
I shall be using my website (www.samknightprint.co.uk), Twitter (@samknightdesign) and Instagram (@samkprint).

Plasticine Printing
On Saturday, Book Face Book club ran a really interesting Plasticine Printing workshop. This is something I have never done before, a playful method of creating quick and experimental prints. Here are a few stamps made with a variety of textures.
Book club runs on the second Saturday of every month at Rising Sun Art Centre, Reading, from 10am-12pm. If you like Art, Books, Art Books & Book Art, do come along! For more photos and information, please visit: https://www.facebook.com/RSACbookface/ and http://www.risingsunartscentre.org.

Once again, I had a stall at Bookface on Sunday at the Rising Sun Arts Centre. It was a great day, there were prints, artists books and workshops (and much more) and I had lots of lovely feedback.
Thanks for N.W. for the photo!

Open for Art 2014
Today I took part of an open air art competition, organised by Jelly Reading.
I am thrilled to say that I won, based on the public vote. Well done to all who entered, it was a good atmosphere and nice to draw outside with other artists. Here are some photos of the shenanigans, thanks to R.K. for the photos.

Reduction, a work in progress
At the moment, I have been working on some lino prints, more specifically reduction lino. It is still dreadfully confusing, even when I know what I'm doing. The first image (the magpie) is a small run of 3 colour prints which I have just finished, the second is the first 2 colours of another 3 colour image, in this case Fulvous Whistling Ducks.
These, and more, will be available at the Whiteknights Trail 2014.

WST
This Summer I will be taking part in the Whiteknights Studio Trail. Here is a five colour screenprint that I have been working on, depicting a Royal Aircraft Factory RE.8 as observed at IMW Duxford.

Alumni
It is 2014. How better to start off the year than with an Exhibition... From January 11th to 29th, I am part of Maiden Erlegh's Alumni Exhibition which features an eclectic mix of work from former Art students. For more details and opening times, check out the Community Arts page. On show is one of my screenprints: Red Kite I, edition of 30. For this and more, make sure to take a look!

Books, Faces and Lists
I had another good day at the Rising Sun Arts Centre. It was wonderful combination of books, bookarts, poetry, performance and music. Below are some of my original ink drawings which I was selling alongside handmade notebooks, zines, cards and prints. Hope to see you all at Bookface 2014!

The Boy Who Cried
Yesterday I visited The UK Wolf Conservation Trust in Beenham Reading for their bianuual open day. It was somewhat fortuitous for the weather to be this good, and nice to be able to see wolves up close.
The more observant amongst you may notice that one of these is not a wolf, but a Harris Hawk, although I won't say which one.

Bookface 2013
This Sunday I will be selling my handmade wares at The Rising Sun Arts Centre, on Silver Street, Reading. More details on the flyer below... I hope to see loads of friendly faces (unfriendly faces also welcome).
