Let me introduce you to 'Guy, the Festive Magpie' who features on one of my three christmas card designs for this year. Merry Christmas everyone!

Mill Road Winter Fair
It was good to see the people of Cambridge literally filling Mill Road today, and to see the Cambridge School of Art Illustration table brimming with wonderful things to buy, including our finished zines.

Book Binding
I have been binding these sketchbooks for sale at the upcoming Mill Road fair. They are coptic bound with an exposed spine, and contain beautiful Fabriano Rosapina paper.

Two Pints: a Publication of Public Houses
Today, Ines and I have been assembling our zines. They are full of drawings of a selection of Cambridge pubs, and are in a limited edition of 16.

Handmade & Bound
I had a great day at the Handmade & Bound affordable book and zine fair on Sunday. It has left me wanting to create more zines and prints, so watch this space! Below is a cormorant I spotted on the Thames on my way through London.

More Planes
On the 31st August, I went along to the Berkshire Museum of Aviation in Woodley. I love how this museum is constantly changing as the aircraft are restored, and how the staff are friendly and happy to tell you more information about the exhibits. Here are a couple of the many photos I took...

Web Design
Today, I had a rather fantastic web design lesson by Nicola Patten so hopefully I should have some sort of website based goodness up and running before I start back in September...

Talking Treasures at the Fitz
Today it was good to see my finished trail for the Fitzwilliam Museum, especially ones which had been followed, filled in and drawn on.
Imperial War Museum
I had a good time at the museum on Wednesday 20th and I managed to do quite a bit of drawing, mostly of different aircraft. Here is one of my favourites.

New Designers
I have just noticed that I did not write anything about New Designers. However, I did go to Part 2 on 9th July and it was jolly good... although rather daunting to think that I will be thinking about it in less than a year (gulp). If only I could find my sketchbook then i would post the sketch i did at the Business Centre- when i find it I shall certainly do so.

Book making at the Fitz
Yesterday Svetlana Taylor, a book restorer at the Fitzwilliam Museum, helped us to decide which books to make at children's workshops on the 23rd July. This is one of the two we picked- a lovely little book which is made from a single length of paper, folded in such a way that it creates little pockets.

Fitz Families
Today I was drawing in the 'Greece and Rome' gallery at the Fitzwilliam museum and whilst the families were focusing on eyes, I thought a sustained drawing session was in order...

Website
I have just started reading a MASSIVE book of step-by-step Dreamweaver which, although not up to date with my version, should help me to get my website up and running before I am back to uni...

Arts Trail
Today I went round Whiteknights Arts Trail 2011... and it was rather smashing. It is great to be able to look at my old teachers' work, and work by local artists and I'm now feeling very creative and full of ideas- but the majority of my materials are 70 miles away. Dagnabbit.
